Pune, Mar 3: Tata Autocomp Systems (TACO) is targeting a turnover of Rs 1,200 crore for the next fiscal when it would complete its first full financial year. This year all the companies in the TACO stables are going to jointly achieve a turnover of Rs 200 crore."Business will pick up when all our customers start production next year," said TACO managing director, D S Gupta. Gupta was in Pune at the inauguration of the comopany's joint venture, Tata Johnson Controls. TACO aims to set up 50 joint ventures. So far, it has put up 11, of which six have started production. Factories are under construction in two projects and three joint venture agreements have been signed. The latest venture is for suspension systems with Krupp Camford of UK through JBM Tools and Associates.
The executive director of Telco, which is the biggest customer of TACO, VM Raval, has urged TACO to keep a watch on the price tag. Raval said that these components are priced more than competitors' products at the moment. Gupta defendedthe pricing stating that the high quality offered demanded inputs and investments.
