The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry feels that the Union finance minister has made a "sincere" attempt to revive Indian economy amidst widespread sluggishness in the industrial and economic fronts. Chamber president Shivkumar Agarwal welcomed the attempt to give a fillip to the share market enlisting active participation of the NRIs and instilling confidence in the mind of the small investors.
Cochin Chamber's concern at deficit:
The Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry has expressed grave concern over the failure of the government to contain fiscal deficit. "All indications point to the fact fiscal deficit will continue to remain high and will also rise marginally in the year to come," a statement said.
Ernakulam Chamber hails sops:
The Ernakulam Chamber of Commerce has welcomed the concessions granted in thenew Union Budget to the housing industry and has expressed optimism that this will revive the real estate business now in the doldrums.
