Crisil reaffirms FAL rating: Crisil has reaffirmed the `FA' rating assigned to the to the fixed deposit programme of FAL Industries Lt (FAL). The rating is reflective of the Tata group support that FAL enjoys coupled with the company's strong presence in the vacuum cleaner manufacturing segment which is supported by an extensive marketing network of Eureka Forbes. "The rating also factors in the sluggish growth in the vacuum cleaners market on account of low level of penetration, unattractive long-term prospects for the typewriters division and the pressure on the company's financial performance," said a Crisil release issued on Thursday. FAL is a Tata group company engaged in the manufacture of vacuum cleaners, manual typewriters, motors, air purifiers and plastic moulded components.Repo sale: The Reserve Bank has announced a four-day fixed rate repos in Government of India dated securities on February 25, 1999 for parties holding SGL account and current account with it at Mumbai. The reporate is pegged at eight per cent per annum. The eligible banks/institutions may submit their applications indicating the volume of repos (face-value) in the prescribed form obtainable at the internal debt management cell, Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai. The applications may be fully or partially accepted. Payment by applicants will be on February 25 and the repurchase by the RBI on March 1, 1999.
RBI mops up Rs 18 crore via repo: The RBI on Thursday mopped up Rs 18-crore through its three-day fixed rate repo in government of India dated securities for parties holding SGL and current account. The central bank received only one application and accepted it. The interest rate was pegged at 8 per cent.
Aarti Industries assigned `P1' rating: Crisil has assigned `P1' rating to the Rs 6-crore commercial paper (CP) programme of Aarti Industries Ltd (AIL). The rating assigned reflects AIL's wide product range, adequate operational capabilities and moderate operating margins. "These factors are partlyoffset by the commodity nature of the company's products and the company's relatively high gearing levels," said a Crisil release issued on Thursday. AIL, the flagship company of the Alchemie group of companies, is engaged in the manufacture and sale of a wide range of nitro chloro benzene derivatives, sulphurin acid and allied products. The company has manufacturing facilities at Vapi and Sarigam.
