NIIT identifies 'probables' in US for acquisition: Computer education major NIIT has moved closer to finalising its proposed acquisition in the US. NIIT has zeroed in on a few "probable" companies, a top company official said in Chennai. "We have identified a few probable firms in the US for our acquisition. We are now in the process of finalising an investment banker to help us complete the process," NIIT chief operating officer P Rajendran said.Microsoft digital systems: US software giant Microsoft and Complete Business Solutions India have joined hands to implement a digital nervous system across the entire firms of CBSI, company officials said. "After careful evaluation, we chose Microsoft to provide the tools as well as the consulting required for implementing the solution," CBSI executive vice-president K Subramanian said.
TVS-Spectra launched in Karnataka: TVS-Suzuki's new four-stroke scooter `TVS-Spectra' will soon be fitted with an electrical starter, TVS-Suzuki president CP Raman said. The fully indigenised scooter, meeting the year 2000 emission norms, was being manufactured at Mysore.
Usha International: Consumer durable marketing company Usha International has commenced its operations in West Bengal, with a vow to revive its sick manufacturing unit Jay Engineering Works in Calcutta as early as possible. Company chairman Siddarth Shriram said that considering West Bengal as a ''key market'', he had planned to invest ''in our marketing strengths, thus providing multiple opportunities in the state''.
