BSE to cut holding in CDSL to 30 %
The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the chief sponsor of the Central Depository Services Limited (CDSL) which holds 65% of the depository's Rs 100 crore equity, proposes to bring down its stake in the latter to around 30%.
Birla Advantage sees fresh inflows of Rs 20 cr
Birla Advantage, the equity fund from Birla Asset Management, has seen fresh inflows of around Rs 20 crore in January. Aided by new investments and a bullish market, total assets under management have seen a robust growth of 57% to Rs 157.40 crore on January 31, 1999.
Operators drive up Sensex by 41 points
Select institutional purchases provided the much needed support to an operator driven rally on the bourses, with the 30-share Sensex rebounding from 3,234.66 points to register a high of 3,283.22 points. However, in the final countdown, the index closed at 3,277.57 points, registering a net gain of 40.81 points.
