Camlin gross profit at Rs 3 crore: Camlin Ltd has reported a lower gross profit of Rs 3.42 crore during th period ended December 31, 1998 as compared with Rs 3.58 crore during the same period last year. It has reported a 7.19 per cent increase in net sales at Rs 105.72 crore for the nine-months ended December 31, 1998 as compared with Rs 98.65 crore.

MRPL Q3 net at Rs 3 crore: Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals (MRPL) has reported a net profit of Rs 2.74 crore for the third quarter of the current financial and Rs 20.94 crore for the nine month period endingDecember 31, 1998. Net sales totalled Rs 662.43 crore for the quarter and Rs 1,860.99 crore for the entire period. A press release issued by the company states that profitability was affected due to high interest and depreciation charges (Rs 102.51 crore and Rs 33.86 crore for the quarter and Rs 305.64 crore and Rs 101.10 crore for the nine months). During the quarter, MRPL processed 9.54 lakh tonnes of crude and despatched 9.11 lakh tonnes of finished products. The company is a joint venture of the AV Birla group of companies and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation.

Warren Tea Q3 net at Rs 8.05cr: Warren Tea has reported a net profit of Rs 8.05 crore in the quarter to December 31, 1998. Operating profit stood at Rs 12.52 crore. The third-quarter sales were recorded at Rs 36.54 crore. Comparative figures of the corresponding period previous fiscal were not available. The company's board took on record the unaudited results at its meeting in Calcutta on Wednesday.

Usha Beltron Q3 profit up: UshaBeltron Ltd reported a net profit of Rs 39.30 crore in the third quarter to December 31, 1998, which includes profit of Rs 17.73 crore booked from the sale of its software division to a subsidiary unit. The company also recorded a profit of Rs 19.07 crore by selling its investments. Both these helped the company to surpass the net profit of Rs 33.70 crore recorded during the full 12-month financial year. In the nine-month period to December 31, 1998, the company posted a net profit of Rs 35.78 crore. Net sales during the third quarter was Rs 233.74 crore and the nine-month figure was Rs 587.65 crore.
