Mumbai, Jan 27: Tata Telecom has posted a net loss of Rs 5.47 crore in the third quarter of 1998-99. It posted a net loss of Rs 1.22 crore in the corresponding period last year. Net sales stood at Rs 35.26 crore as against Rs 36.25 crore.Sales for the first nine months of the current fiscal totalled Rs 105.06 crore as against Rs 176.58 crore for the whole of 1997-98. Net loss for the first nine months is Rs 12.16 crore (2.16 crore) compared with a profit of Rs 1.36 crore in 1997-98.
Other income for the third quarter was down from Rs 35 lakh to Rs 31 lakh and expenditure from Rs 33.58 crore to Rs 36.92 crore. The gross loss was Rs 4.41 crore as against Rs 36.97 lakh in the third quarter of 1997-98.
Tata Telecom had ended 1997-98 with a gross profit of Rs 5.02 crore on sales of Rs 176.58 crore.
