Mumbai, Dec 28: Plantesia, a joint venture between Microland Ltd and ICICI Venture Capital, and Matrix, a Kotak Mahindra group company, will work together to bring news information to websites, intranets and extranets. Matrix is in the business of providing information through its India Informer service on the Internet.The partnership intends to provide Planetasia clients updated information about companies, industry and other related information on their web-sites, intranets and extranets. News collected from the media will be selectively provided through each company's web-sites. ``Any client seeking Planetasia.com's assistance to build websites, intranets and extranets will provided related information by Matrix,'' Planetasia vice president Ashish Mahadwar said. The clients will have to pay an annual fee of Rs 50,000. ``The content providers will get a significant part of this,'' Matrix chief executive Keya Sarkar said.
``Building this automatic update mechanism reduces effort involved in someonephysically tracking information across various media and then including in the site,'' he said.
Keya Sarkar said it was good way for corporates to access content which is protected by copyright. ``Matrix has been in the business of providing information for some time now and looks for every platform to distribute it," she said.
Matrix has tied up with V-sat network providers and is in talks with some Internet service providers to enhance opportunities.
