OBE for Sabharwal

M M Sabharwal, president emeritus of Help Age India, has been honoured with the Order of the British Empire for his contribution to strengthening Indo-British relations in business and social work. The award was conferred recently on him by Sir David Gore, the British high commissioner on behalf of the Queen.

Closely associated with the British industry, Sabharwal has headed Shalimar Paints, Britannia Biscuits and Indian Oxygen, besides being the first person from the developing world to be the chairman of Help Age International, the worldwide charity.

Jain to be IIMM chief

VINOD Kumar Jain has been unanimously elected national president of the Indian Institute of Materials Management for the year, 1998-99. Jain, at present, is general manager with Indian Airlines at Safdarjung Airport, New Delhi.
