Customs, excise shortfall pegged at Rs 11,000 crore
The revenue department has estimated a Rs 11,000-crore shortfall in collections during the current fiscal with customs collections expected to fall Rs 6,000 crore short of budget estimates and excise mopup expected to fall short by about Rs 5,000 crore.

The cement sector's largest-ever spell of recession is finally forcing international cement majors to shed their earlier optimism on India. Some big names, including British cement major Blue Circle and Scancem of Norway, have already shelved their India plans.

India yet to cash in on falling urea prices
