JK Paper unveils premium brand in A4 size: JK Paper, India`s leading paper manufacturer, has launched `Finesse', a retail pack of premium quality bond paper in consumer friendly A4 size. The product is targeted at PC users, lawyers, doctors and small office owners. To enhance availability, the product will be sold at gift shops, supermarkets, airports, computer hardware, and tourist places. Priced at Rs 100 per pack, the product is manufactured at JK Paper Mills in Raigada, Orissa.
New Netfinity servers: Tata IBM has launched three new IBN Netfinity servers that deliver new levels of speed, reliability and management, according to a company release. `Armour-plated' with `big-server' features such as parallel clustering technology, adapters for superfast, direct-attach to the mainframe S/390 systems, light path diagnostics (a series of lights that let technicians troubleshoot Netfinity systems as if they were copiers or printers) and multibit error correcting memory technologies and hot-swap components. The new servers include Netfinity 7000M10, 55000M10 and the Netfinity 5000.
Vibrant Tech seminar on ISPs: Vibrant Technology Pvt Ltd, which imparts training and education on broad band communication, is organising a one-day seminar on November 26 on `How to become an Internet Service Provider'. The seminar will provide overall perspective on the business of providing Internet services. Senior officials from DoT, VSNL, telecom and software companies will address the participants. Companies like HCL, Mircoland and 3Com are expected to participate in the event. The one-day seminar will cover issues relating to licensing and approvals, networking possibilities and alternatives, among others.
Intenia solution on Java: Global software firm, Intenia has unveiled the world's first enterprise resource planning software package developed in Java. Version 11 is the new release of the company's flagship product, Movex and it will be offered in two different technologies, the Java-based Next Generation (NextGen) and the traditional, This Generation (ThisGen).
Wipro Infotech Internet-based services: Wipro Infotech Communication Services has launched Wipro IP Express, the Internet Protocol (IP) infrastructure for Internet-based application services. Wipro Communication Services has enhanced its network to support transfer control protocol/Internet protocol for Internet usage in India and in the process of applying for an Internet Services Provider license. The application services offered by Wipro IP Express include remote login, file transfer, internetworking of local area networks (LANs), Microsoft EExchange network services, Lotus Notes network services, Intranet services and Domino Net services.
Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Sun Microsystems centre: Pricewaterhouse Coopers and Sun Microsystems India have announced the opening of their authorised Java centre (AJC) at Pricewaterhouse's technology centre in Calcutta. The centre will provide consultancy and solutions for network computing with eemphasis on the manufacturing segment. Pricewaterhouse will utilise the AJC in leveraging its existing investments in SAP, Oracle, Baan and Peopleesoft. The centre will use Java technology to build Business to Business and Business to Customer solutions.
DHL opens new south Mumbai outlet: DHL Worldwide Express (Express Division of Airfreight) has opened a new express centre at Embassy Centre, Nariman Point in south Mumbai. The centre will cater to the customers of this area, who would need to have their documents and packages delivered to anywhere in the world. This is the sixth express centre, which DHL has opened in south Mumbai to provide better srvice to its customers. DHL Worldwide EExpress has eenhanced its portfolio of export made easy services by launching USA First, a new improved air express service to the US.
Hindustan Insecticides chief: Hindustan Pesticides Ltd finance director Rajendra Mohan has been appointed as the company's chairman and managing director. Mohan has been holding the additional charge of CMD since August 1, 1998, a company release said.
Orient Fans product: Orient Fans, a leading name in fan manufacturers, has launched The Orient PSPO Twister. Its salient features include a 15600cu.m/hr wider blades,large motor size and top ball bearings with blade profiles to enhance mechanical life. The launch is supported by press advertisements, 30-second television commercials and outdoor advertising, created by the agency RK Swamy/BBDO Advertising. With an annual capacity of 2.5 million fans, Orient claims to be the market leader in the country.
