Mumbai, Nov 11: Informix Software (India) plans to invest up to $15 million in India in the next few years as part of its expansion plans in the country. The company has opened its second development centre in Mumbai as part of its expansion plans. It has already invested around $10 million in the country.The new development centre will develop and maintain Informix's database servers and application development tools. According Informix vice-president Steve Weick, the Indian development centre will work on the company's database servers, the Informix Dynamic Server V7.31, which is scheduled for launch next year.
The development centre has been set in association with Melstar Information Technologies Ltd, a software development company providing system integration and enterprise-wide solutions. "We jointly look after the maintenance and service sides of the centre," Melstar managing director SM Arora said.
Informix spends nearly 10 per cent of its total global research and development expenditure inIndia.
