Women's workshop
November 8: Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (MCED) will conduct a six-week Entrepreneurship Development Programme for Women from November 23. A maximum of 30 candidates will be selected from among early applicants. The venue is the JP Naik Bhavan, University Campus Kalina, Santa Cruz (E), Mumbai where classes will be held between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.The course will be structured as follows: Contents: 4 weeks for learning different skills and related theory. 2 weeks for entrepreneurial input.Details of the different skills: Soft toy making (3 days) - 2 big toys with notes, patterns and materials. Presentation articles (3 days) - Golden tree, solawood work - frames and artificial bouquets. Fabric painting (6 days) - Basic course in fabric painting, pot painting and techniques for ceramic painting. Pearl Jewellery (6 days) - Necklaces, rings, earrings, bangles, new and traditional designs. Beauty care (6 days) - Skin care, hair care and head massage, facialswith fruit juices and herbal preparation, hair styles, bridal make-up, hair decoration, mehendi dye for men and women, colouring, manicure, pedicure and face packs. ED Inputs - Information on government schemes and procedures, schemes for financial assistance, personality development, preparation of project report, Market survey techniques, scope for above-mentioned businesses and enterprise management.Eligibility - Open to all women irrespective of age or education qualifications. Fees - Rs 5,000, inclusive of course material, material for practicals and tea.
