Newport launches casual shirts range: Newport has launched a new casual wear range of Checks `n' Stripes shirts in 100 per cent cotton in over 40 designs, to complement its recently launched wrinkle-free cotton pants. The checks shirts are made from two-ply cotton yarn while the stripes shirts are in cotton twill weave, in printed stripes. The shirts are priced Rs 399 upwards. Newport has also introduced a new range of knitwear in vibrant, yarn-dyed stripes in Polos and T-shirts. The products are available in over 30 designs and are priced Rs 199 upwards. They are made from 100 per cent cotton. The new casual wear range of products will be marketed through Newport's retail distribution network of 3,000 retailers, spread over 100 cities.

JK Helene Curtis unveils powder hair dye: JK Helene Curtis Ltd, a leading manufacturer of cosmetics and toiletries, has launched Tru Tone Powder Dye in sachets. The black dye is available in a convenient three gm sachet and a carton comprising three sachets.Priced at Rs 7, the sachet is ideal for one time usage. The carton costs Rs 21 and the product is available at all leading chemists across the country. With the launch of Tru Tone, Helene Curtis claims to be the first company to offer the entire range of hair dye options that include liquid gel, stick forms and powder. Currently, Tru Tone liquid hair dye and gel are available in black and brown, while the powder is available in black.

Infar launches Femilon: Infar (India) Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of Organon, has launched Femilon, a light oral contraceptive pill. Infar claims that the product is the first and only contraceptive that contains the lowest dose of estrogen (20mcg) and right progestogen. BPL Telecom launches Series 5400 range: BPL Telecom has recently launched the new `Series 5400' range of push button telephones. Currently, there are two models available in this range -- model 5400 and model 5490. In addition to the existing range, this launch reinforces the leadership position of thecompany in this field.

HLL bags award for brand excellence: Pepsodent toothpaste, a leading brand from the Levers stable, has won the award for brand excellence at the four-day International Brand Summit which began on November 5, in Mumbai. The award was presented to Pepsodent on the basis of market penetration, brand extension, market reach, brand loyalty, support of sub-brands and creative inputs. The research for the award was conducted by an independent market research firm.

Indishop.Com goes online: Indishop.Com, India's first online electronic shopping mall (e-mail), is available for website visitors at www.indishop.com.

SSC&B bags international awards: SSC&B has won two international awards for its two ad films on Hexit Insecticides and Babul Zarda. The Hollywood Television Society has honoured these films for its creative excellence.
