Software exports register 66% growth in first half
India exported software worth Rs 5,090 crore in the first half of the current fiscal reflecting a big growth of 65.5% in rupee terms and 47.5% in dollar terms.
Farmers attend Agro Food expo in large numbers
The Mumbai Exhibition Centre at Goregaon in north Mumbai wore a festive look on Saturday with over 40,000 farmers from all over Maharashtra participating in the Agro Food Tech' 98 international exposition organised by the state government.
Clinton lifts economic sanctions in part
US president Bill Clinton has decided to use the one-year waiver authority granted by Congress to lift some of the sweeping sanctions imposed against India and Pakistan because of progress in the non-proliferation talks with both countries. The ban on the IMET (International Military Education and Training) programme against India and Pakistan will also be lifted.
