Chennai, Oct 22: Tamilnadu Petroproducts has reported a 14.6 per cent drop in net sales to Rs 79.36 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 1998, as compared with Rs 92.92 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.Net profit dropped 29.6 per cent to Rs 8.01 crore, against Rs 11.38 crore in 1997-98. The gross profit after interest but before depreciation and tax stood at Rs 19.66 crore, as compared with Rs 22.28 crore in the corresponding period last year. Depreciation was higher at Rs 7.6 crore.
Apollo Hospitals Q2 sales up a shade to Rs 27 crore
The Chennai-based Apollo hospitals has posted a marginal rise in turnover to Rs 26.89 crore for the second quarter of fiscal ended September 30, 1998, as compared with Rs 25.86 crore in the corresponding period last year. Gross profits rose from Rs 4.33 crore to Rs 4.61 crore. Net profits increased from Rs 2.53 crore to Rs 2.65 crore this quarter from the corresponding period last year.
The total expenditure after adjustment for stocks wasRs 18.87 crore this quarter, against Rs 18.20 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Interest cost stood at Rs 3.42 crore (Rs 4.33 crore) and depreciation Rs 1.46 crore (Rs 1.30 crore).
TVS Electronics H1 net jumps to Rs 0.46 crore
TVS Electronics has registered a 39 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 0.46 crore for the first half of 1998-99, against Rs 0.33 crore in the corresponding half year of 1997-98. Net sales rose 3.57 per cent to Rs 53.09 crore, against Rs 51.26 crore last year. Gross profit after interest but before depreciation and taxation was Rs 1.62 crore (Rs 1.55 crore). Interest costs stood at Rs 1.86 crore (Rs 1.18 crore). Depreciation was lesser at Rs 96 lakh (Rs 1.08 crore). The paid up equity share capital is Rs 17.03 crore.
