BFL Software net profit jumps to Rs 11 crore: The Bangalore-based BFL Software has reported a 322.64 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 11.20 crore for the six months ended September 30, 1998, against Rs 2.65 crore in the corresponding period last year. Net sales saw a 91 per cent jump to Rs 46.43 crore from Rs 24.31 crore. The company is opening its fifth development centre in Bangalore soon and plans to add another one next year. The new focus areas of the company include electronic business, ERP implementation services, health care software products and high-value add consultancy services, a company release said.IVP Ltd sales rise 115% to Rs 334 crore: IVP Ltd has posted a sales growth of 115 per cent for the first half of the current fiscal to Rs 334 crore, as compared with Rs 155 crore in the corresponding period last year. The half-year sales surpassed the annual sales of Rs 291 crore in the 1997-98 fiscal. The net profit for the period increased 52 per cent from Rs 5.18 crore to Rs 7.82crore.
Wendt board to meet on October 26: The board of directors of Wendt (India) Ltd, a part of the Murugappa group will meet on October 26, 1998, to consider and approve the unaudited financial results of the company for the second quarter ending September 30, 1998.
Four BPL group firms' boards to meet: Four BPL group companies are meeting on October 28 and October 29 for considering, inter-alia and taking on record the unaundited financial results (provisional) for the quarter ended September 30, 1998. The boards of BPL Ltd and BPL Sanyo Utilities and Appliances Ltd will meet on October 28, while that of BPL Sanyo Technologies Ltd and BPL Engineering Ltd will be on October 29.
Mangalore Chemicals H1 sales up to Rs 252 crore: Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd (MCF) has recorded an increase in net sales to Rs 251.81 crore for the first half of the current fiscal, against Rs 242.06 crore for the same period in the previous fiscal. Total expenditure increased to Rs 236.40 crorefrom Rs 228.70 crore. The company's gross profits increased to Rs 5.90 crore from Rs 3.88 crore and the net profit increased to Rs 1.96 crore from Rs 0.08 crore.
Adani Exports bags award: The Ahmedabad-based Adani Exports Ltd has bagged the Indian Oilseeds & Produce Exporters Association (IOPEA) award for `the highest exporter of HPS groundnut kernels for 1997-98'. The trophy and certificate was recieved by Adani Exports senior manager (international trade development) Gagan Gulati from the ministry of commerce director Parvinder Singh at IOPEA's 21st annual general meeting and maiden award ceremony in Mumbai recently.
Acer Peripherals appoints Godrej Pacific as distributor: Acer Peripherals on Tuesday appointed Godrej Pacific Technology as the authorised distributor for marketing monitors, keyboards and Cd-rom drives in the country. Godrej Pacific will coordinate the logistics and marketing activities through Servex, the 100 per cent subsidiary of Acer Peripherals Inc.
HindustanOrganic gets export house status: Hindustan Organic Chemicals Ltd (HOCL) has been conferred the export house status, having recorded an export growth of 187 per cent at Rs 20.22 crore during the financial year 1997-98. HOCL expects to increase export earnings to 25 per cent of the turnover by the end of the Ninth Plan, a release said.
Ministry nod for permanent exhibition site at Goa: Goa will soon have a permanent exhibition facility on the lines of the Pragati Maidan in Delhi after a proposal finalised by the Union Commerce Ministry. Addressing a press conference, Goa chief minister Wilfred Desouza said that during his recent visit to Delhi he had requested the concerned ministry to allot a permanent exhibition facility in the western region to Goa. His other request to include one Goan city in the union tourism ministry's plan to identify 50 cities in the country for developing them as tourists attractions too has been conceded, Desouza said.
