Nalco bags Capexil award

Bhubaneswar, Oct 11: National Aluminium Company, the country's leading manufacturer-exporter of alumina and aluminium, has bagged the top export award of Chemical and Allied Products Export Promotion Council (Capexil) for 1997-98. This is the 11th time in succession that Nalco has won this award, which will be presented at a special function in November at Mumbai. Since inception, Nalco has achieved success as an exporter. During financial year 1997-98, Nalco exported 55,000 tonnes of metal and 4.8 lakh tonnes of calcined alumina, earning a record foreign exchange of Rs 679.48 crore as against Rs 637.86 crore in 1996-97. Nalco's products are sold in more than 30 countries including the UK, the US, France, Norway, Italy, Brazil, Australia, Indonesia and China.
