NEW DELHI, Oct 6: Tribal leader from Madhya Pradesh and former MP Dileep Singh Bhuria today demanded a CBI investigation into the recent rape of four nuns in Jhabua saying attempts were being made to ``suppress the truth behind the incident.''The probe should be handed over to the CBI as people of tribal-dominated Jhabua district have no confidence in the action being taken by the Madhya Pradesh government, he told reporters here.
Seeking intervention by the Central Government, Bhuria alleged attempts were being made to give a political colour to the shameful incident and to suppress the truth.
Bhuria, who had represented Jhabua as a Congress MP before joining BJP on the eve of last Lok Sabha elections, blamed the ruling congress for rising crime in the backward Jhabua area.
Bhuria said he met Home Minister L K Advani and apprised him about the `deteriorating' law and order situation in Jhabua district which was now under ``mafia raj.''
