Lack of funds hampers education
The Human Development Report 1998 has revealed that India has been ranked 139th among 174 countries in terms of overall human development, despite the country showing improvement in several fields. The report has expressed serious concern about the state of education and literacy in India.

Jungle full of laws
India has too many laws. These proliferate documentation. In turn, these have created a massive system of bureaucratic inspection. There is too much sand in the machine. This calls for a massive clean-up.
