Reduction in trade barriers sought

New York, Sept 26: India on Saturday assailed the strong resurgence of protectionism in developed economies and sought immediate reduction in tariff barriers and removal of all non-tariff restrictions.Developed nations are not only slow in bringing structural changes, they have also started using trade and investment to achieve non-economic objectives like labour standards, human rights, environment and intellectual property rights, prime minister's special emissary Jaswant Singh said.
