Walt Disney, Columbia in pact for distribution
Hollywood major Walt Disney & Co. is joining forces with Columbia Tristar in India to distribute and promote its theatrical products. The deal with Columbia was signed earlier this week by Buena Vista International, the 100% subsidiary of Walt Disney which looks after the studio's distribution business worlwide.
Star TV's local operations may break even by next year
Star TV, Asia's biggest television network company, expects its Indian operations to break even by the middle of 1999. The international TV major will also launch three regional channels in the country soon.
65% of card-holders unaware of high rates: Study
Sixty-Five per cent of cardholders in the country are unaware of the high interest rates charged on outstanding balances, and wind up paying more, says a study by Credit Card & Consumer Management Consultancy (CCMC). The CCMC study, based on a survey of 10,000 card-holders in 15 cities across the country.
