Hindustan Fertiliser's Baruni plant on the verge of closure
Hindustan Fertiliser Corporation's Barauni unit is on the verge of closure owing to a strong lobby for imports in metropolitan centres. The plant has a capacity to produce 1.84 lakh tonnes of urea per annum.
Indian Oil sees 1998-99 net past Rs 2,100 crore
Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is expecting to post a net profit of more than Rs 2,100 crore in the current financial year, up from Rs 1,706 crore recorded during 1997-98. The company's decision to reduce costs via energy saving exercises has started to yield results in the form of better financial performance.
"Hazira pipeline restoration may take 4 days"
Gas Authority of India (GAIL) is likely to take 3-4 days to restore supplies to its main flood-hit pipeline in Hazira. The 2,000 km pipeline has a capacity of 33 million cubic metres of gas a day and was flowing 30 million cubic metres a day before the shutdown.
