IDFC seeks more role in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh core projects
The Infrastructure Development Financing Corporation (IDFC) is in talks with the governments of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh to try and play a more proactive role in the infrastructural development of the two southern states. In Andhra Pradesh and Kerala, IDFC has made some headway in several power projects coming up for financial closure.
SAIL seeks ally for Durgapur alloy unit
The Steel Authority of India (SAIL) is scouting for joint venture partners for some units in the Durgapur-based Alloy Steels Plant (ASP), which is in a bad shape. The plant needs additional facilities like billetcaster, electro-magnetic stirrer, AOD furnace, besides balancing facilities in the bar mill and other downstream units.
Reliance bundles LNG terminal with Gujarat port plan
Reliance Industries has proposed a four-berth Rs 13,000-crore greenfield port combined with a 2,000mw LNG-based power plant in Hazira. The port facility alone will cost Rs 5,829.6 crore.
