Finance firms to arrange Rs 500 crore term loans for MKVDC
ALPIC Finance, Centrum Finance, RR Financial Consultants and other finance companies have agreed to arrange term loans of Rs 500 crore at 14.5% to the cash-starved Maharashtra Krishna Valley Development Corporation (MKVDC) for its irrigation projects. The state irrigation department has also roped in the National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development to provide Rs 200 crore at concessional rates.
Export industry status for tourism industry on way: Minister
The Union commerce and tourism ministries have in principle agreed to accord export industry status to the tourism sector in the country keeping its dollar-earning capacity in view, according to the union minister of parliamentary affairs and tourism Madan Lal Khurana.
Supreme Court dimisses US firm's appeal against MRTPC orders
The Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal by the American Natural Soda Ash Corporation against interim ex-parte orders of the Monopolies & Restrictive Trade Practices Commission (MRTPC) restraining the multinational company from allegedly indulging in the practice of cartelisation by exporting soda ash to India.
