Cipla storms market with anti-Aids drug
The Rs 541-crore Cipla has introduced its indigenously developed anti-Aids drug, lamivudine, in both the domestic and overseas market at less than half the prevailing global prices. Cipla's early entry is significant given that original patent holder Glaxo has yet to hit the domestic market with its lamivudine brand.
Honda withdraws from Indian scooter venture
Japanese auto major Honda Motor plans to pull out of its scooter joint venture in India with Kinetic Engineering Ltd (KEL) as demand for scooters is not likely to increase. However, the company will continue providing the Indian partner with technical support.
