Coca-Cola targets China tea market
Coca-Cola Co is reading the tea leaves for the Chinese market and it believes they spell out bottled tea. The beverage giant, long a powerhouse in the market for carbonated drinks, is hoping its bottled teas will slake the growing thirst of China's consumers.
Daewoo Motors India's Royale, Caravan hit the road
Daewoo Motors India Ltd (DMIL) entered the commercial-vehicle segment by launching two new mid-size buses `Royale' and `Caravan' on Thursday. The buses, priced Rs 8.08 lakh and Rs 7.60 lakh respectively (ex showroom in Delhi), are being offered in two variations -- deluxe and standard.
General Motors rolls out Opel diesel version
General Motors India yesterday rolled out its first Opel Astra 1.7-litre turbo diesel car from its Halol factory, in Gujarat, for the mid-segment market. Astra 1.7 TD, fitted with new generation turbo-charger and inter-cooler, complies with the exhaust emission limits which became effective in the Europeam Union from 1996, is priced at Rs 7.68 lakhs (ex-factory) and about Rs 8 lakhs on Gujarat roads.
