Zee Education scholarships: Zee Education (ZED) through its ZED career academy, has announced national scholarships for deserving students. According to ZED, a national scholarship test will be conducted at each of ZED career academy's 50 centres across the country in September, 1998, which will gauge the general aptitude of the students. ZED plans to award a total of 56 scholarships at each of the centres with the top ranking student getting a 100 per cent fee waiver.

Purolator India plans: Purolator India Ltd, part of the Anand group, plans to manufacture filters for two-wheelers. It has already developed filters for the proposed motorcycles and scooters to be launched by TVS Suzuki. It also plans to manufacture four-stroke motorcycles and scooters to be launched during the next few years.

New auto magazine launched: Tata Donnelley Ltd, publishers of `Tata Press Yellow Pages,' has launched a monthly automobile magazine -- Overdrive. Priced at Rs 30, the 128-page magazine is the third publication launched by the special interest publication division within Tata Donnelley Ltd, a company release said.

ITI new director: SK Minocha has assumed charge as ITI director (research & development). Till recently he was the executive director (R&D) and was responsible for guiding the development of a number of telecom projects. He was also responsible for setting up the infrastructure for the manufacture of OCB-283 large electronic switching equipment at the company's Palakkad plant in Kerala.

Export excellence awards: Export excellence awards, jointly instituted by the office of the joint director of foreign trade and the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture will be presented in Pune on September 2 by Prabhakar More, minister of state for industry. The award winners are Mercedes Benz India Ltd., Cummins India Ltd., Bajaj Auto Ltd., Bharat Forge Ltd., Kirloskar Brothers Ltd., Thermax Ltd., Sudarshan Chemical Industries Ltd, Serum Institute of India Ltd., Navcom Industries Ltd. and Eagle Flask Industries Ltd.

Cadila Healthcare case: Cadila Healthcare Ltd, which had appealed to Gujarat high court against a lower court interim injunction in a case of infringement of copyright, withdrew the petition after the appellate court directed the trial court to hear and dispose of the pending suit before November 30. Justice YB Bhatt also ordered the impugned order be held in abeyance till the final disposal of the case. The lower court had earlier restrained the company from printing, advertising and marketing `Enalaprit Maleate' (generic name) with identical reproduction of strip and box of `Envas' (a cardio-vascular drug) manufactured by Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd, till the final disposal of the case.
