Sri Vishnu Cements scrip takes a beating

K V V V Charya
HYDERABAD, August 21: The bourses appear to have given up the Sri Vishnu Cements chase. Punters seem to have run out of steam as they feel that it will be a long drawn battle between India Cements promoters and B V Raju.

The result: market operators started offloading the scrip which dropped to Rs 45 from Rs 55. The Sebi on Thursday adjourned the hearing in the case till September 1. Market analysts here predict that the price will fall bellow Rs 40 considering the profit-booking that has started in this counter. They further say that the ownership dispute of Sri Vishnu shares between Raasi's new management and B V Raju now appears to be a civil issue as argued by B V Raju with Sebi.

"We know the civil disputes will be settled over a period of time, and the market operators have no option except to allow the B V Raju's open offer", said a HSE broker.
