DEA not impressed by new package
In order to arrest the current slump in exports the government needs to come out with cash compensatory support at the rate of 25% to all exporters. The Delhi Exporters Association (DEA) on Thursday sharply criticised the government's lack of initiative to contain the fall in exports.

Steel sector seeks new avenues for demand
Saddled with huge inventories, steel producers are seeking new avenues to generate demand for the metal, especially in the automobile sector where use of wood and other materials are still very high. Steel producers are meeting bus and truck body builders in New Delhi to emphasise the point that costs of bodies built with steel sections are lower compared to those built using wood and other materials.
