Godfrey Phillips opens cricket-gear outletsGodfrey Phillips India Ltd's sports-goods division has launched the Four Square Cricket Gear outlets in Mumbai and New Delhi. The range includes original English willow bats of different grades, cricket balls, gloves, leg guards, thigh, abdominal and elbow guards, pads, stumps and bails and many more accessories.
This international quality gear is being used by some of the country's cricketers like Nayan Mongia, Javagal Srinath and Venkatesh Prasad. The range is positioned as "You never know what you can become." The price varies between Rs 6,550 for bats and Rs 60 for abdominal guards. The upmarket outlets have been set up at Pioneer Sports and Bombay Sports in Mumbai and Pioneer Sports and Sports World in Delhi.
Thin-client solution:
M-Systems Flash Disk Pioneers Ltd, BCOM Corporation, and Cyrix Corporation - a subsidiary of National Semiconductor - have developed a sub-$200 thin-client solution HomeNET and WinNET2, with M-Systems flash disk.The systems feature a Cyrix MediaGX processor which integrates graphic, audio, and memory control onto a single chip. They provide a modulized 2-72MB M-Systems DiskOnChip for high storage capacity. The solution also offers a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet port, 8-64 DRAM, and Microsoft's WindowsCE, QNX o thin operating systems. HomeNET and WinNET2 designs have been developed for set-top boxes, Windows-based terminals, network computers, and applications for Internet access devices and thin-clients.
MBL-RCG sets up new division:
The research agency MBL-RCG, part of NFO Worldwide, has launched a new division, MBL Techno.Search. The division will research the areas of information technology, telecommunications and business automation. MBL Techno.Search will have access to the expertise of Prognostiks - the IT company of NFO Worldwide - that will help determine the status of products in the market. MBL-RCG has a collaboration with the UK-based MBL Group Plc. The agency's clients include Hindustan Lever, TVSSuzuki, Citibank, Birla 3M, Smithkline Beecham, Marico, Colgate Palmolive, Godrej Group, Bayer, Nestle, General Motors, and Whirlpool.
`Nightingale' stationary in city:
Srinivas Fine Arts Pvt Ltd has introduced a new range of stationary under the brand name Nightingale. It is aimed at schools, colleges, and the corporate sector. The range of Nightingale includes - diaries, notebooks, children's books, calenders, gift stationary sets, address books, and planners and office stationary. Nightingale has designed a Q-Bound Series Diaries for 1999. Srinivas Fine Arts is one of the larger integrated printing houses in India.
Godrej Foods light sunflower oil goes national:
Godrej Foods will be introducing `Cooklite' nationally, after its success in the south Indian market. The light sunflower oil sticks less to food and is clear in consistency. It is enhanced by the processes of dewaxing and deodorising. Cooklite will be available in a one-litre tetrapack and a five-litre PET bottle, priced atapproximately Rs 64.50 and Rs 324, respectively. Prices may vary upon location of sales.
