SAIL turns to IDBI for capital revamp advice
The state-run Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has roped in term-development institution IDBI to work out a capital restructuring package. The steel major is also working on an organisational revamp in a bid to ride out the slowdown.

L&T team set to partner Cochin Refineries for Kerala power plan
A consortium of Larsen and Toubro (L&T) and CEA Ambalamugal Energy Co of Mauritius is set to join Cochin Refineries as venture partner to execute its 500 MW power plant in Kerala. The proposal is under the consideration of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs for its approval.

Task force on capital goods' industry planned to speed up project clearance
A capital goods task force on the lines of Information Technology Task Force will be set up jointly by Planning Commission and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The task force will identify the bottlenecks to revive the ailing capital goods industry. In addition, it will urge ministries for a fast-track clearance to held-up projects in refineries, power, telecom, roads and ports.
