Iyer takes over as MTNL Mumbai chiefS Ramani Iyer, an officer of the Indian Telecom Service, 1965 batch, has taken over as chief general manager, MTNL, Mumbai.
Iyer brings with him vast experience in various fields of activities in the Department of Telecommunications, having worked in installation, maintenance of long-distance networks, research developments, network planning, training development and maintenance of large telecom networks.
He was deputed as an ITU expert on digital transmission to the Republic of Somalia in 1985-86. He worked as GM Task Force Calcutta Telephones for over three years and as chief general manager, projects, Eastern Region, Calcutta, a position he held for more than four years. Prior to joining MTNL Mumbai, Iyer was the chief general manager of the Bihar Telecom Circle.
Samit Ghosh is CEO, Bank Muscat
Samit Ghosh has recently been appointed chief executive officer, India, of Bank Muscat. The India head office of Bank Muscat is in Bangalore and it offersa full range of banking services -- corporate, merchant, retail and treasury.
Ghosh has nearly 25 years of experience in the banking field, both in India and abroad. He started his career in Citibank in 1975 after graduating from Wharton School, Philadelphia, in 1974. He has worked extensively in West Asia and the Indian subcontinent.
