Intel launches new branded processorsIntel Corporation has introduced a new family of branded processors designed to meet the demanding requirements of mid-range and higher servers and workstations. The new PentiumR II XeonTM processors feature technical innovations specifically designed for workstations and servers which utilise demanding business applications such as Internet services, corporate data warehousing, digital content creation, electronic and mechanical design automation. Systems based on the PentiumR II XeonTM processor can be configured to scale to four or eight processors and beyond. The combination of the pure performance of the processor and this scalability brings exceptional levels of price performance to the server and workstation market segments. In 1,000-unit quantities, the Pentium II processor 400 MHz with 512 KB L2 cache costs US $1,124 and the Pentium II processor 400 MHz with 1 MB L2 cache costs $2,836.
Oriental Bank, Citibank introduce co-branded credit card:The public sector Oriental Bank of Commerce has joined hands with Citibank to announce the launch of the Oriental Bank co-branded credit card. The new card will feature the Oriental Bank of Commerce, Citibank and MasterCard logos. It offers photograph and non photograph options. Competitively priced, the new card offers similar features and benefits available on any other Citibank card.
Birla-Yamaha launches portable generator: Birla-Yamaha has launched a compact portable generator, the LG700K. The new model has been developed with the help of Yamaha Motor Company, Japan and has a four-stroke engine, with a power output of 600 watts and weighs 23.5 kg. The generator will be targeted at the middle-income group and small business establishments who need a reliable power alternative.
Hair colour from Schwarzkopf: The German-based Schwarzkopf Professional, the international hair cosmetics major, has introduced the Igora Royal Fashion range of hair colour in the domestic market. The rangecontains P-Lipid-EFA, a special substance that gives the hair more shine and greater colour brilliance. The product will be available through a network of distributors in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Calcutta.
Cox & Kings cashes in on `Great Singapore Sale': To make the annual `Great Singapore Sale' accessible for die-hard shoppers, Cox & Kings is offering a travel bonanza. It offers the Indian traveller four days in Singapore at Rs 15,700 (from Calcutta and Chennai) or Rs 17,200 (from Mumbai and Delhi) per person. This tour is available from June 28 to July 27, the duration for which the Sale is held. Available in styles like slip ons, moccasins and lace-up, the range offers 13 models priced in the Rs 745 to Rs 845 bracket.
