Sensex zooms 121 points on FII buying
Renewed buying by foreign institutional investors (FIIs) in the backdrop of a stabilising rupee saw the 30-share BSE Sensitive Index flare up by 120.74 points to close at 3,289.56 points yesterday.
Margin on short sales to go from July 6
The SEBI-appointed sub-committee has decided to do away with the additional margin of 10 per cent imposed earlier on short sales with effect from July 6. July 6 will also see the temporary ban on short sales lifted.
Mayya panel moots uniform settlements on all bourses
The Mayya committee on uniform settlements has decided in principle to bring in uniform settlements at all the stock exchanges across the country. The committee hopes to start off with uniform settlements in the larger stock exchanges.
