New Delhi, June 27: Honda Siel Cars India Ltd (HSCI) announced an increase of Rs 10,043 to Rs 39,430, with effect from July 1, on the five variants of its luxury car `City' due to the rise in input costs. The costs have gone up on account of additional duties and taxes levied in the budget.The City will now carry an ex-showroom price tag (in Delhi) of Rs 5.90 lakh for the 1.3 LXi, Rs 6.48 lakh for the 1.3 EXi, Rs 7.38 lakh for the 1.5 EXi, Rs 7.73 for the 1.5 EXi-Sports version and Rs 7.98 lakh for the 1.5 EXi automatic transmission car.
The quantum of the increase in percentage terms over the pre-revision price works out to roughly 1.7 to 5.6 per cent for the different grades in each of the eight cities it is currently available.
Honda Siel Cars India president and CEO T Fujisaki said in a statement on Saturday that the revised prices do not reflect the entire increase in input costs as the company has decided to pass only a part of the increase to customers.
Honda Siel Cars India is a joint venturebetween Honda Motor Company of Japan and the Siel, promoted by Siddharth Shriram group.
