Free tax advice from Times Bank

What was till now meant only for the priority customers in many foreign banks, has now been introduced by TimesBank for all customers. All Mumbai and Delhi branches of TimesBank are offering free advice on tax planning till March 31, 1998.

The free services offered are computation of tax liability, advice on filing returns, TDS deductions, advance tax payments, due dates and clearance certificates. Consultation on tax planning such as tax saving investments, clubbing of income, HUF, gift tax as well as management of income tax related problems is also being offered.

``The service has been launched to provide a much needed convenience to our customers,'' says Ujwal Thakar, Executive Vice-President, Personal Banking, TimesBank. As the bank realised from its regular customer audits that people are generally worried about tax compliance, it decided to launch the tax guidance services.

The tax planning advice will now be counted among many of the pioneering steps that TimesBank took towards building uprelationship with its customers. As Thakar puts it: ``The banking industry will be forced to change to keep pace with changes in consumer behaviour and technology.''

``TimesBank's strategy is to create a strong bank for the new millennium with the focus on customer,'' adds Thakar.
