Tex-Styles India fair sees Rs 424 cr business deals

Feb 15: The fourth day of the Tex-Styles India fair, concluded on February 1 at New Delhi, saw an impressive buyer turnout. Business worth as much as Rs 424 crore was generated during the four day event, according to the Textile Commissioner's office. Over 2300 international buyers, from around 81 countries, and nearly 700 buying agents from foreign companies based in India participated in the fair.According to the Textile Commissioner, the event was organised to enhance the image of the Indian textile industry in the global arena and is complimented by a higher number of participants, approximately 23 per cent more than last year. Turnover generated by the overseas buyers was 61 per cent higher than that of the previous year while order booking was 51 per cent more than the 1997 figures.
