Heavy betting on poll outcome

Our Correspondent
JAIPUR, February 12: Punters are busy again in Rajasthan with the total estimated amount involved being put at over Rs 14 crore. This time they are betting on the Lok Sabha poll outcome in the state. Heavy sums have been put on individual constituencies as well.

Apart from the Pink City, other centres where the punters are known to be busy, are Sikar and Ajmer.

In the fortunes of the candidates and the main political parties one can see fluctuations but the punters have given both the Congress and the ruling BJP in Rajasthan equal honours. There are in all 25 Lok Sabha seats for which elections will be held on February 16.

The punters have put the Banswara (ST) seat in the `common' category as the reports trickling down from there are quite hazy.

For the sure seats of BJP such as Jaipur, Ajmer, Jhalawar the rate is 10 paise i.e. one who puts in Re 1 will get Rs 1.10 on winning.
