CPCB chairman gets awardDilip Biswas, chairman, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has been conferred with the International Felicitation Award for his contribution in the areas of planning, development and environment protection. CPCB, as an organisation, has also been conferred the Felicitation Award for its contribution in environmental protection. The awards are instituted by the World Environment Congress and its NGO affiliates. The awards were distributed by the former President Shankar Dayal Sharma on the occasion of the 50th year of Independence at the World Environment Congress recently concluded in Delhi. Chandran to head Krone Communications Bala K Chandran will be the new chief executive officer of Krone Communications Ltd. Bala, 42, has been with the company for the last seven years and was heading the company's marketing and sales operations. Krone India is a subsidiary of Krone AG of Germany, a leader in telecom industry. With Chandran's appointment as the first

FedEx India head appointed Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), the world's largest express transportation company, has announced three senior management appointments in the region covering the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent. These appointments significantly strengthen the recent launch of FedEx's direct operations in India. Hamdi Osman, former managing director, operations, has been appointed vice president, Middle East and Indian subcontinent. Arun Kumar, formerly managing director of planning & administration at FedEx's Memphis hub has been appointed managing director of operations for FedEx, Indian subcontinent. Jude Fonseka, formerly district sales manager for the Indian subcontinent and air freight sales, Middle East, has been appointed senior country manager, sales, for India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
