Marriott of US, Competent Clubs may sign 5-star hotel project pact

The US-based Marriott hotel chain is close to inking a management and franchise agreement with Competent Clubs for a 5-star hotel in East Delhi. Marriott may also pick up a 25% stake in the Rs 150-crore hotel project. The deal will be signed when a team from Marriott visits Delhi later this week.

Trojan unveils electronic security system range

Trojan Technologies yesterday unveiled an entire range of electronic security systems in Bangalore. The range consists of customised security solutions and specific products for individuals, households and institutions. The products can be wired up around a house or a complex of offices/factories to form an integrated security system (ISS). In addition the company will also provide a central monitoring station service to all owners of the ISS.

IPCL kicks off brainstorming exercise on Vision 2000

Indian Petrochemical Corporation (IPCL), one of the "navaratna" public sector companies, has started off a top-level brainstorming exercise to chart out the implementation of its grand corporate plan, Vision 2000. The discussions are aimed at laying down basic principles on key operational areas of raw material use, workforce management, and outsourcing among others to streamline deployment of its Rs 6,000-crore Ninth Plan outlay.
