Aug 20: If you are a Mohammed Rafi fan, there is good news in store. VJ Jaaved Jaaferi would take the viewers of Videocon Flashback on a nostalgic trip to pay tribute to the playback singer on his death anniversary. The two special episodes would cover almost all of Rafi's major hits including the Naushadian classic Kohinoor. The Mohammed Rafi specials would be aired by Channel V on August 21 and 28 with repeat telecasts scheduled for August 24 and 31. Pantaloon award: The first Pantaloon cricket calendar that began with the Singer Trophy in Sri Lanka in August 1996 ended with the recently concluded Asia Cup. The final points tally has determined the top five cricketers who are being nominated for the final stage of the Pantaloon India cricketer of the year award. The finalists for this year's award are Mohammed Azharuddin, Rahul Dravid, Saurav Ganguly, Anil Kumble and Sachin Tendulkar. They were selected on the basis of a point system which screens the performance of all the cricketers who have played a minimum of 3 tests and 10 one-day internationals during the current Pantaloon cricket calendar year. Sachin Tendulkar was the recipient of last year's award. Spanish firm mulls to enter country: Derivados Forestales SA of Spain, which is a producer of formaldehyde, paraformaldehyde has decided to expore the possibilities of establishing its presence in India. The products proposed to be manufactured in the country would find its use in the manufacture of paints, particle boards and electrical components. Tetra Pak brand promotion drive: Tetra Pak India has initiated a brand promotion for Vijaya Milk. Shoppers at twenty select outlets were treated to Vijaya Milk in tetra packages. Vijaya Milk is a product of the Andhra Pradesh Diary Development Cooperative Federation. As part of the strategy, the company has decided to extend the campaign to 20 more select outlets in two cities. A contest is being carried out for shoppers at these outlets. The first prize winner will get Tetra Pak milk free for a month. Murkumbi group neem project: The Murkumbi group, in cooperation with the Karnataka government has launched a neem project in the state. The group has planted over 30,000 neem saplings in 300 acres of land in the Athani taluka of Belgaum district in North Karnataka. The plantation project is meant for the production of high-quality neem seeds. The group, engaged in the production of neem-based bio-pesticides has been using the plant to provide viable alternatives to synthetic products in the country as well as abroad.
