NSE softens stand on members indemnity bond

[Details] The National Stock Exchange may allow its members not to furnish an indemnity bond provided they go in for compulsory pre-verification of all the deliveries that they make at the exchange. The exchange is also considering a modification in the terms of the indemnity bond to cover only those defaults which occur as a result of introduction of bad paper into the system.

BSE mulls separate clearing house for gilts trading

[Details] The Bombay Stock Exchange plans to set up a separate clearing house jointly with State Bank of India for trading in the government securities (Gilts). The Reserve Bank of India had suspended gilts trading on the exchange in the wake of the 1992 securities scam.
