Why regulate cold drinks?

Those who were talking about the irreversibility of reform need a second look at the beverages business. The cola majors were free to sell their concentrates to whoever they liked (even to bottling joint ventures with their own majority equity participation). But control is set to return with the government drafting an all-new beverages policy.

Twisted idea of competitiveness

India's competitiveness has been debated extensively ever since PV Narasimha Rao took the plunge into structural reform and wasted no time in formulating several policy and administrative initiatives.
