Tell them to stop dumping

Complaints of dumping, or exports to India by foreign producers at below their domestic prices, are mounting. While there is little evidence of a consequent rise in exports by India's downstream industries or of price cutting in final goods in the home market, dumping has hurt a number of domestic majors.

Going west to stop laundering

When in India, regulate as the Americans do. Its the simple maxim that guides all rule-writing these days, and the proposed Money Laundering Act is no exception. The Act, to be presented before the Indian Parliament, is the triumph of American ideas over any other that is available.

VSNL: Why does it need British Telecom?

The Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd has been pressing the Department of Telecom and the Telecom Commission for the latter's approval to its joint venture with British Telecom to put up a hub to handle international traffic on a transit basis between South Asian countries on the one hand and West Asian and European countries on the other.
