With foreign scientists and farmers, PAU Kisan Mela turns international

In addition, thousands of farmers and farm women from Punjab and its adjoining states took part in the festival.

In his closing remarks, Chief Guest Dr Manjit Singh Kang, Vice-Chancellor of PAU, said the participation of farmers from different parts of the country and abroad was an encouraging sign.

He thanked the scientists, from the Purdue University, Washington State University, and the Indian Agricultural Research Institute for their participation.

Dr Kang applauded farmers for their hard work, innovative approach and aptitude for learning and said they played a significant role towards making the country, food secure.

He distributed certificates and trophies to the winning entries of various competitions that were held during the mela.

The Director of Extension Education, Dr M S Gill thanked farmers, foreign visitors, scientists and employees for ensuring that the mela was a success.
