Taking a dig at CPS Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Wednesday said he would visit her to take directions on how to run the government. This after Kaur termed the SAD-BJP government as directionless.

According to sources, Kaur — wife of BJP MP from Amritsar Navjot Singh Sidhu — has questioned the “vision” of the “directionless” SAD-BJP government while alleging that she had not received development grants worth Rs 100 crore as promised by Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal. She also claimed that funds meant for Amritsar were being diverted and that she as CPS was not being consulted in policy matters.

Badal, while speaking to mediapersons at Baba Bakala, said: “I am ready to go to her to take directions. Next time when I visit Amritsar, I will go and tell her that I have come to take directions.” He added that he considered it good to receive directions from others. “Even you people give us directions,” Badal told mediapersons in a lighter vein.

Sitting alongside him, Punjab BJP chief Kamal Sharma said Kaur should not have gone to media but raised issues within the party. “I will speak to her in this regard,” he said.

When contacted, Kaur said: “I have spoken to Kamal Sharma hundreds of times. He knows everything. His only responses are ‘we will see, we will talk... A large number of BJP leaders and workers are sick of him.”

On Badal’s statement, Kaur said it was good that the CM was open to discussions. “I welcome his gesture. At least one should be given a chance to have a say. Whether the suggestions are adopted or not is another matter,” she added.
