London: Hollywood hearthrob Robert Pattinson has compared himself and his 'Twilight' co-stars to the legendary rock band 'The Beatles'.
The British actor insisted that the teenage hysteria surrounding the movie series is similar to 'Beatlemania' of the 1960s, reported Contactmusic.
The British band attracted hordes of dedicated devotees, and the intense fervour around the group became known as 'Beatlemania'.
The 23-year-old is adamant that he has been subjected to the same kind of erratic behaviour from the screaming fans who follow his every move.
"I don't know how the Beatles felt but I imagine it was close to this. Very few human beings will ever get to experience the love we feel at Twilight events," he said.
The actor is trailed by fans wherever he goes and in an incident in New York he collided with a taxi while trying to escape a mob of frenzied fans.
