Washington D.C. has been named as ‘America's least faithful city' for the second year in a row, according to online dating site AshleyMadison.com.

The website collected the data and found that D.C. had the highest number of sign-ups per capita in 2012, boasting 34,157 new members, the Huffington Post reported.

The second and third place was reportedly bagged by two Texas cities - Austin and Houston respectively.

Founder and CEO of Ashley Madison, Noel Biderman asserted that the D.C's win was quit expected because with enormous public attention paid to political cheating scandals this year, there was no doubt that Washington residents would be influenced.

Other U.S. cities that made it to the top 10 are:

1. Washington, D.C.

2. Austin, Texas

3. Houston, Texas

4. Miami, Fla.

5. Oklahoma City, Okla.

6. Richmond, Va.

7. Boston, Mass.

9. Lincoln, Neb.

8. Philadelphia, Pa.

10. Phoenix, Ariz.
