Want to integrate world cinema with Indian movies: Prashita Chaudhary
Prashita Chaudhary, who is one of the producers behind Danis Tanovic's Emraan Hashmi starrer untitled international project, says she is keen to wed world cinema sensibilities to Indian movies.
"I am very focused on this film because it's a very important movie for us. We got Oscar-winning director in Danis and an actor like Emraan together. My effort is to integrate good world cinema into our industry. This film is one such attempt," Prashita told PTI.
Tanovic is best known in India for his Bosnian war drama 'No Man's Land' that beat Aamir Khan's 'Lagaan' and three other films to win the best foreign film Oscar.
His latest film 'An Episode In the Life of an Iron Picker' was a double winner at the recently concluded Berlin film festival, winning the Jury Prize and the Best Actor prize.
Prashita, 27, walked the red carpet with Hashmi and Tanovic at the festival. The team is currently shooting the film in Berlin before moving the production to India.
"We will announce the name once we are back in India. We have decided on it. We shoot in Berlin for three days before moving to Patiala to complete the movie by the end of February. We will shoot there for 40 days. The story has a strong India connect," she said.
The producer, who has currently five films under her production banner Cinemorphic, bought the movie rights for the untitled film last year. She is producing it with Anurag Kashyap Films Ltd and Sikhya Entertainment.
